Competition Morning Breakfast

I'll admit it, on normal training days I'm super lazy with my breakfast. I wake up as late as possible and have minimal time to get ready, so breakfast is usually instant oatmeal or a granola bar. When contest day comes around though, I put in a little extra effort to make sure I have the fuel and focus when I need it.


One of my favorite competition morning breakfasts is this energy packed open face sandwich. The avocado and whole wheat bread provide long lasting energy, the turkey bacon and eggs pack a protein punch, and the cheddar cheese brings in some cheesy deliciousness.



Here's my recipe:


Step One: Throw two eggs and two strips of turkey bacon on the stove. At the same time drop the sandwich thins in a toaster or toaster oven.

Step Two: When the bread is toasted to your desire, spread half the avocado on each piece. Sprinkle a little salt or your favorite seasoning over the avocado to bring out flavor.


Step Three: When the eggs and bacon are done cooking, layer them over the avocado. Then sprinkle the cheddar on top, and drizzle your favorite hot sauce.

Step Four: Eat that delicious sando up!
